Ingredients
4 to 5plain croissants
3cupswhole milkpreferably full-fat milk
1 ½cupswhipping cream36 to 40 per cent fat
1cupsweetened condensed milk
2tbspbutter
Pinchof salt
¼tspcinnamon powder
¼cupraisins
¼cupchopped almonds
¼cupchopped pistachios
1tspvanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 180°C.
Cut the croissants into bite-sized pieces and toast them in the tawa or oven. Spread them evenly in a baking dish.
Sprinkle half of the chopped nuts and raisins evenly over the top.
In a saucepan, heat the milk, whipping cream, condensed milk, butter, salt, and cinnamon over medium heat until the milk is warm. Stir in the vanilla extract.
Pour the warm milk mixture over the croissant pieces in the baking dish, ensuring that all the pastry is soaked.
Sprinkle the remaining chopped nuts and raisins evenly over the milk mixture.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Before serving, sprinkle additional chopped nuts over each portion for added crunch and nuttiness. This enhances the texture of Umm Ali.
